Find It: Digital Media

Your PIN, or patron identification number, is used as a password by many library services and sites. If forgotten, a staff member can always reset it.

eBook Compatibility

OverDrive provides two formats for reading across devices: Kindle and Adobe EPUB.

The Kindle format uses your Amazon account to manage the licenses and primarily works on Kindle devices and other devices that supports the Kindle app.

The Adobe EPUB format uses Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) to manage licenses and works with most Nook devices, Sony ereaders, Kobo ereaders, and any device that supports the OverDrive Media Console app.

OverDrive maintains a comprehensive list of formats and device compatibility.

Audiobook Compatibility

OverDrive provides books in two different formats, WMA and MP3, which should be considered when browsing and transferring.

Adobe Digital Editions (ADE)

Adobe Digital Editions is ereader software that maintains the licenses for OverDrive’s EPUB formatted books. This format is most commonly used by Nook, Kobo, and Sony ereaders, as well as by the OverDrive Media Console app.

For devices without the OverDrive app, it’s sometimes necessary to transfer the book to the device by connecting the device to your computer and transferring via a USB cable. Because of account and licensing concerns, the library is not able to provide computers to transfer EPUB files.

Login Info

Some databases require users to log in with their library card information. In most of these cases, the error will specify the problem, whether it’s an incorrect password/PIN, or fines are owed. If you’re having problems logging in, most library staff members can give assistance.

Other databases require an account to be created. Most of these sites maintain their own account information. If you can’t remember the password you used when creating your account, there’s usually an option to change it, but library staff cannot change or retrieve it for you.

Mobile Apps

Several of our services do have apps for most mobile devices, including our library app , OverDrive, Hoopla Digital, and Mango Languages.
